Rail SolarMetal L AL

SolarMetal L AL is the rail made of aluminium AW 6063 T66 for PV systems on trapezoidal metal sheet roofs. The section is optimised for fastening along the rib of the metal sheet, allowing the assembly of PV panels with landscape layout. Available in long or short rails (with pre-assembled EPDM). Compatible with ALG rivets or self-drilling screws.

Advantages

Complete range of: long rails for easy alignment and mounting during installation; short rails for cost optimisation and no problems with thermal expansion.
Short rails with pre-assembled EPDM on the bottom ready for the installation.
Short rails are pre-drilled for installation with either ALG rivets or self-drilling screws.
The SolarMetal version L H50 110 mm EPDM AL is compatible with the installation of photovoltaic optimizers: the 50 mm height helps improving the ventilation of the modules.

Properties

Aluminium alloy EN AW 6060 T66 in accordance with EN 755-2:2013.
EPDM rubber gasket, 2 mm thick.
Please note: any oxidation stains are considered characteristic of aluminium. This in no way impairs the functionality of the product and is not covered by the warranty.

Functionality

Choose between long and short rails depending on the installation layout and taking into account thermal expansion.
For long rails, determine the centre distance of the fastenings according to snow and wind loads (use SOLARPANEL-FiX software to design the system).
For short rails, use a fastener in each hole.
Only for long rails, stick a layer of CG INT butyl adhesive tape (minimum length 80 mm) on the trapezoidal metal sheet rib before applying and fastening the rail.
Position the rail on the trapezoidal metal sheet.

For fastening with ALG rivets:

Long rail: drill 5.5 mm both the rail and the metal sheet.
Short rail: drill 5.5 mm the metal sheet.

For fastening with Solar screws:

Long rail: drill 5.5 mm the rail and screw directly into the metal sheet;
Short rail: screw through the pre-drilled holes.
