Spring models for the realistic design of anchorages in concrete
The current methods for the design of anchorages given in the codes are deemed valid only if the baseplate is sufficiently stiff. The quantification of the required stiffness of the baseplate is one of the most discussed topics in the code committees since several years. The use of spring models can offer an innovative solution to this problem. The design of the anchorage as well as the baseplate can be optimized using linear spring models. Nonlinear spring models automatically account for the stiffness of the baseplate as well as the anchor stiffness within the linear and nonlinear range, thereby providing a direct calculation for the resistance of the anchor group. Therefore, with the nonlinear spring modelling approach it is possible to perform realistic calculations for anchorages that lie beyond the scope of the CC Method.

Boglárka Bokor is working as Senior Expert, Competence team Technology transfer and committee work at fischerwerke GmbH & Co. KG since 2020.
She studied structural engineering at the TU Budapest and TU Dresden. She is a former Research Associate at the Institute of Construction Materials, University of Stuttgart (2013-2020).
Her main research focus was the development of a nonlinear spring modelling approach for the design of anchor groups in concrete.
She submitted her PhD thesis on this topic at the University of Stuttgart in 2020.
Johannes Braun is a trained mason and civil engineer. He was involved in work preparation and construction management at mid-sized construction companies for a total of 13 years. He has been working for fischer since 2003. He first served as a technical consultant in application engineering, and today acts as the Head of the Engineering/Software/BIM competence team. Johannes Braun will give participants insight into the topic of Building Information Modeling and into our free design software Fixperience in this live presentation of digital fischer services for craftsmen.
Engineer Andreas Cardinal worked as a structural engineer/planner in building construction, and has been an application technician at fischer for 16 years. His specialities include measurements in the areas of structural strength, dynamism and subsequent reinforcement connections, as well as permits and regulations. Andreas Cardinal will be happy to answer your questions in our 1:1 appointments.
Daniel Heiß is a trained carpenter, after which he completed a degree in structural engineering (FH). After his degree, he worked as a structural engineer, and now has 22 years of professional experience in construction. Daniel Heiß has been part of application engineering at fischer Deutschland Vertriebs GmbH, since 2007, primarily as a specialist for connections and reinforcements in wood construction, subsequent reinforcement attachments and servicing fischer measurement programs. Daniel Heiß will be happy to answer your questions in our 1:1 appointments.
Master carpenter Stefan Huber has a total of 20 years of professional experience. As of 2016, he is working as a technical trainer in our fischer Academy, and is a fixing expert for all questions related to wood construction and screws. Stefan Huber will give you some insight into established product and service highlights in our live presentations.
Dr. Thilo Pregartner studied structural engineering in Karlsruhe and completed his Ph.D. at the Institute for Construction Materials in Stuttgart, in the fixing technology area. After receiving a DFG grant to study at the Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, he began working with the engineering firm Eligehausen & Asmus as an independent expert. From 2009 to 2018, he served as Technical Director, and later Senior Engineering Manager at the Powers and Stanley Black&Decker company. He has been area head of the competence team for technology transfer and board work competence in the fischer group of companies since 2018.
